# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They taste indulgent and restaurant-quality, but you'll have them ready faster than delivery arrives.
  • The filling stays molten and cheese-pull-worthy while the outside crisps up without any deep frying mess.
  • You can customize the filling however you want, which means they work for vegetarians, pepperoni lovers, or that one friend who adds jalapeños to everything.
02 -
  • Don't skip the egg wash—it's the difference between rolls that look homemade and rolls that look intentional and finished.
  • Low-moisture mozzarella is essential; fresh mozzarella will release water and make everything steam instead of crisp.
  • Flip them halfway through cooking, even though it feels fussy, because air fryer heating isn't perfectly even and flipping guarantees all sides get golden.
03 -
  • A wire rack under your basket (if your air fryer has one) helps hot air circulate underneath too, giving you even crisping on the bottom.
  • If your first batch browns faster than expected, lower the temperature by 5 to 10 degrees for the next batch—every air fryer runs a little different.
